What is the ZSWT Vibrating Feeder?

The ZSWT series vibrating feeder utilizes the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of eccentric shafts within the vibration exciter to drive movable components—such as the feeder trough and the exciter itself—in a continuous, forced circular or near-circular motion.
The vibrating feeder consists of a feeding trough, a vibration exciter, spring supports, and a drive mechanism. The vibration exciter serves as the vibration source and comprises two eccentric shafts (a driving shaft and a driven shaft) and a gear pair; an electric motor drives the driving shaft via V-belts, and the gear on the driving shaft meshes with the gear on the driven shaft to rotate it. The simultaneous counter-rotation of the driving and driven shafts causes the trough to vibrate, facilitating the continuous flow of material and thereby achieving the goal of material conveyance.

What are the advantages and installation considerations for the ZSWT vibrating feeder?

The eccentric shaft is forged from high-quality carbon structural steel. It undergoes CNC turning followed by heat treatment (quenching and tempering), CNC precision machining, and ultrasonic flaw detection. Finally, it is finished on a cylindrical grinder to meet design specifications.

The mating faces and mounting holes at both ends of the main housing are machined using high-precision CNC boring and milling machines, ensuring perpendicularity and parallelism during the installation of the bearing housings.

The two gears within the exciter are manufactured using high-precision machine tools. Each production step is strictly monitored by the Quality Control Department to ensure that, upon meshing, the gears operate without looseness or abnormal noise.

During installation, ensure the equipment is level across its width to prevent material drift. Maintain a clearance of at least 100mm from surrounding structures—such as steel frames or guide chutes—to avoid collisions that could disrupt normal operation.

During operation, regularly monitor the vibration amplitude, motor current, and motor surface temperature. Ensure uniform amplitude at both ends, absence of lateral swaying, and stable motor current.

Frequently inspect all connecting bolts and replace any that show signs of severe wear.

For grease-lubricated exciters, apply grease regularly to prevent bearing damage caused by insufficient lubrication.

What is the working principle of the ZSWT vibrating feeder?

The ZSWT series feeder utilizes the centrifugal force generated by an exciter to induce forced, continuous circular (or near-circular) motion in movable components such as the trough body. The exciter consists of two eccentric shafts (a drive shaft and a driven shaft) and a gear pair; an electric motor drives the drive shaft via V-belts, and the gear on the drive shaft meshes with the gear on the driven shaft to rotate it. The two shafts rotate simultaneously in opposite directions, causing the trough body to vibrate. The ultimate objective is to ensure a continuous flow of material, thereby achieving the goal of material conveyance.

Utilizing a monoblock dual-eccentric shaft exciter forced into synchronization by high-precision gears to ensure a highly stable linear vibration trajectory. Compared to conventional piecemeal eccentric blocks, this design guarantees smoother operation and eliminates torsional stress during heavy-load startups.

Highly compact design with deeply optimized footprint geometries makes it not only a staple for fixed operations but also a perfect retrofittable fit for heavy-duty tracked or wheeled mobile crushing plants.

Features centralized lubrication points and minimal wear components, allowing operators to complete routine daily checks within 10 minutes to eliminate costly, non-productive downtime.

Our Case

Jiaozuo Zhongxin® provides advanced crushing and screening equipment for industries involved in rock and mineral processing. From individual machines to mobile crushing units and complete processing plants, our solutions are designed to meet diverse production needs, supported by professional technical service and reliable after-sales support.

Common Problems

This section is designed to address the most pressing inquiries customers may have regarding the daily operation, maintenance, product advantages, and after-sales service of our crushing and screening equipment. Our aim is to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of our overall capabilities and enable you to make informed decisions for your projects.

This is primarily to achieve scalping. Run-of-Mine (ROM) ore naturally contains dirt, fines, and undersized rocks that already meet size requirements. A grizzly vibrating feeder allows these fines to bypass the crushing chamber by dropping through the gaps. This not only increases the crusher's effective capacity by 20%-30% but also drastically reduces unnecessary wear on the jaw dies and prevents mud from packing and stalling the crusher.

Standard parallel bars easily clog when handling sticky, clay-rich ores. The solution is using a stepped and diverging grizzly bar design. These bars are wider at the discharge end than at the feed end (wedge-shaped) and have a tapered cross-section. Because the gap continuously widens, sticky lumps that get momentarily wedged are automatically vibrated loose and pushed forward, resulting in excellent self-cleaning action.

Modern beneficiation plants solve this via electrical interlocking and VFD closed-loop control. The vibrating feeder's Variable Frequency Drive is linked to the crusher's motor current monitor (or a cavity level radar). When the crusher's current spikes (indicating a full chamber), the vibrating feeder automatically slows down. If the crusher trips and shuts down unexpectedly, the vibrating feeder is instantly cut off via an interlock, preventing a catastrophic bury-out of the equipment.

The grizzly gap setting is directly dictated by the downstream crusher's settings. The golden rule: The grizzly gap should be set to 75% to 100% of the crusher's Closed Side Setting (CSS). If the gap is wider than the CSS, large slabby rocks might bypass the grizzly vibrating feeder and cause severe blockages when hitting the downstream conveyor belts or secondary crushers.

The ZSWT series is an enhanced upgrade of the ZSW series, featuring a stepped grizzly bar design and higher processing capacity. The stepped structure allows materials to undergo repeated "throwing-falling" motion during conveying, enabling fine particles and impurities to be pre-screened through the grizzly gaps more effectively, preventing material blockage. In terms of capacity, the ZSWT can handle a maximum feed size of up to 1400mm with processing capacity reaching 1500t/h, making it suitable for large-scale primary crushing lines

Traditional flat grizzly feeders tend to suffer from bridging and blockage when handling wet, sticky, or fine materials. The stepped structure of ZSWT causes materials to be continuously thrown up and dropped during forward movement, creating a "vibration loosening effect." Fine materials are more likely to fall through the grizzly gaps at the moment of dropping, while large blocks are pushed forward by the steps into the jaw crusher. This design essentially adds a "tumbling" action to the material flow, significantly reducing blockage probability

Yes. The ZSWT series features an adjustable grizzly gap design, allowing users to modify the spacing between grizzly bars based on material characteristics and downstream crusher requirements. Wider gaps allow more fines to be pre-screened, reducing the amount of fine material entering the crusher and improving crushing efficiency. Narrower gaps result in relatively higher feed rates. This flexibility enables ZSWT to adapt to different ore types and operating conditions

Sudden amplitude reduction is usually caused by the following reasons, listed by inspection priority: Inconsistent eccentric block angles on two vibrating motors — Check and adjust to consistent angles Insufficient excitation force — Loosen the movable eccentric block bolts and adjust the phase of the two eccentric blocks (maximum force when phases overlap) Insufficient base rigidity — Base plate too thin or improperly leveled, absorbing vibration energy Aged or cracked rubber springs — Check main vibration springs and isolation springs for cracks Motor wiring issues — Inconsistent rotation direction of the two motors; reverse wiring on one motor to ensure opposite rotation
