What is the PY series spring cone crusher?

The PY series spring cone crusher boasts a reliable structure, convenient adjustment, simple operation, easy maintenance, and self-release for smaller iron blocks, requiring no maintenance. It enjoys high market acceptance and is currently widely used. Compared to other series of cone crushers, and especially for cone crushers with the same moving cone diameter, the PY series spring cone crusher offers the most economical price.

Hard Rock Crusher for High-Hardness Materials

Specifically engineered for hard rock crushing lines (such as granite and river pebble), delivering peak efficiency for high-hardness and highly abrasive materials.

Optimized Aggregate Shape & Premium Quality

Advanced compression-crushing design optimizes aggregate and sand particle shapes, significantly reducing elongated and flaky material rates.

Reliable Sealing for Harsh Quarry Environments

Utilizes labyrinth and water seals to conquer heavy dust in quarry plants, protecting the cone crusher main shaft and driving gears.

Flexible Cavity Options & Discharge Adjustment

Available in coarse, medium, and fine cone crusher cavities. The discharge opening is easy to adjust, meet market demands for various aggregate and sand sizes.

Reliable Spring Overload & Tramp Iron Release

Equipped with a mechanical spring safety system, it automatically releases tramp iron or uncrushable objects and resets instantly, ensuring continuous, non-stop operation.

What is the working principle of the PY series spring cone crusher?

1.The working principle of the PY series spring cone crusher is to crush the material by squeezing, impacting, and bending it between the crushing cone and the fixed cone.

2.The frame serves as the main body of the PY series spring cone crusher; all components are mounted onto it, and it is secured to the foundation by four anchor bolts.

3.The drive shaft assembly is housed within the frame's drive shaft housing (13). A small bevel gear (12) at its front end meshes with a large bevel gear (31) mounted on the eccentric sleeve (20), while the other end connects to the electric motor via a pulley (15) and drive belt.

In the PY series cone crusher, the surfaces involving the drive shaft bearings, thrust plate, conical bushing and main shaft, straight bushing and eccentric sleeve, the pair of bevel gears, and the spherical bearing all undergo relative motion and friction. To ensure the crusher operates correctly, these friction surfaces require effective lubrication and dust protection.

4.The safety mechanism of the PY series spring cone crusher consists of a ring of 16 spring assemblies mounted on the frame. When uncrushable material enters the crusher, the resulting force lifts the stationary cone and support ring, compressing the springs; this increases the gap between the mantle (on the moving cone) and the concave (on the stationary cone), allowing the uncrushable material to pass through the discharge opening and preventing damage to the crusher. The support ring and adjustment ring then return to their original positions under the tension of the springs. This mechanism ensures the safety of the crusher to a certain extent.

Why choose the PY series spring cone crusher?

1. Advanced production technology and professional equipment: Our products have process cards for each stage from raw material to finished product, and are strictly inspected by dedicated quality inspectors.

2. Continuous improvement based on customer feedback during production and sales: We continuously upgrade and modify the PY cone crusher during the production process.

3. Diverse models and configurations to meet various customer needs: The PY cone crusher can also be interchanged between standard, medium, and short-head models by changing the adjusting sleeve and moving cone, meeting customers' needs for coarse, medium, and fine crushing operations.

Our Case

Jiaozuo Zhongxin® provides advanced crushing and screening equipment for industries involved in rock and mineral processing. From individual machines to mobile crushing units and complete processing plants, our solutions are designed to meet diverse production needs, supported by professional technical service and reliable after-sales support.

Common Problems

This section is designed to address the most pressing inquiries customers may have regarding the daily operation, maintenance, product advantages, and after-sales service of our crushing and screening equipment. Our aim is to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of our overall capabilities and enable you to make informed decisions for your projects.

Under load, it withstands the reaction force generated by the crushing force; under no-load conditions, it withstands the reaction force caused by the weight of the moving cone and inertial forces. It ensures the stable operation of the moving cone. Therefore, the design and calculation of the spherical bearing can be based on the stability conditions of the moving cone and the specific bearing pressure.

Feed port size and maximum feed particle size: Matches the output of upstream equipment. Discharge port adjustment range: Determines the final product particle size. Main motor power: Reflects the crushing capacity and energy consumption level of the equipment. Maximum spring compression force: Reflects the equipment's overload protection capability and the hardness of materials it can handle. Overall weight and dimensions: Related to the installation site and foundation load-bearing requirements.

Feeding: Ensure uniform and continuous feeding, avoiding "overfilling" or "idling." The particle size of the material should meet the equipment requirements. Lubrication: Strictly follow the specifications for using the appropriate grade of lubricating oil. Regularly check the oil temperature, oil quality, and oil level, and clean or replace the filter element. Inspection: Check the spring condition, fastener tightness, equipment vibration, and noise level every shift. Cleaning: Keep the equipment clean and prevent dust from entering the lubrication system.

When uncrushable materials (such as iron blocks) enter the crushing chamber or when there is a severe overload, the crushing force acting on the moving cone exceeds the spring preload, forcing the moving cone to retract downwards, increasing the discharge opening, expelling foreign objects, or releasing pressure. After the foreign objects are discharged, the spring automatically resets the moving cone, thus protecting the main unit from damage.

Common causes include: Uneven spring pressure or damage to the springs. Uneven wear of the wear-resistant liners or reaching the end of their lifespan. Loose foundation fixing bolts. Uneven feeding or excessively large material pieces. Wear and tear on critical components such as bearings or gears.

This is mainly achieved by adjusting the adjusting sleeve below the top spring device. Rotating the adjusting sleeve clockwise raises the moving cone, reducing the discharge opening and resulting in finer output; conversely, rotating it counterclockwise increases the opening. After adjustment, it needs to be locked, and the pressure of the springs on both sides should be balanced.

The core wear-resistant parts include the moving cone liner, fixed cone liner, cup-shaped bearing, and copper sleeve. Their lifespan is related to the material hardness, abrasiveness, and operation and maintenance. Under normal circumstances, the liner lifespan can reach several hundred to several thousand hours. It is recommended to regularly check the wear condition and replace them in a timely manner according to changes in product particle size and production capacity.

Simple and reliable structure: The mechanical spring overload protection system reduces potential failure points and simplifies maintenance. Lower cost: Initial purchase and maintenance costs are typically lower than those of a hydraulic cone crusher of the same specifications. Stable Operation: Under stable operating conditions, the crushing efficiency is high, and the output particle size is uniform.
